Nestled in the scenic northwest region of Las Vegas, just east of the 215 beltway, lies Lone Mountain Regional Park, a one-of-a-kind recreational haven for Clark County residents. What sets this park apart is its special focus on equestrian use, offering a range of amenities designed to cater to horse enthusiasts of all ages and abilities.
As part of Phase V of the park’s development, Lone Mountain Regional Park has incorporated several equestrian features that make it unique. One of the highlights is the 2-mile equestrian loop trail surrounding the majestic Lone Mountain, providing riders with a scenic and enjoyable riding experience. This trail allows horseback riders to take in the area’s stunning natural beauty while enjoying a leisurely ride.
The park also features a covered equestrian arena, providing a dedicated space for riders to train and exercise their horses. This arena is equipped with proper footing materials and other amenities to ensure a safe and comfortable riding experience for both horse and rider. In addition, the park offers two round equine pens, including a 60-foot round pen and a 40-foot round pen, providing riders with additional options for training and exercising their horses.
Accessibility is a key focus at Lone Mountain Regional Park, and the park features an ADA-accessible horse loading ramp. This ramp allows riders of all abilities to easily mount their horses and enjoy the park’s equestrian facilities, making it inclusive and welcoming.
For families visiting the park, a shaded playground has been designed with a central focus on the equestrian theme. The playground features a full-sized concrete horse with a saddle for kids to ride, concrete fallen logs and climbing structures that mimic the natural elements of horseback riding. Additionally, the playground includes ADA-accessible equipment, including a roller table, ensuring that children of all abilities can enjoy the park’s amenities.
The park also offers a covered picnic pavilion with BBQ facilities, providing a perfect spot for families to gather and enjoy a day of outdoor recreation. The pavilion is connected to the previous phases of Lone Mountain Park, allowing visitors to explore and enjoy the park’s other amenities, including sports fields, basketball courts, and walking trails.
