The City of North Las Vegas is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a free community event at Craig Ranch Regional Park on Saturday, September 19, from 3 to 9 p.m.

The afternoon and evening celebration will feature live music, mariachi and folklórico performances, dancing, food trucks, kids’ activities, community resource booths and more than 30 local vendors. The event is free and open to the public, making it an easy weekend outing for families looking to enjoy live entertainment and celebrate Hispanic culture in North Las Vegas.

The festivities begin at 3 p.m. with Mariachi Plata of the College of Southern Nevada, one of the country’s most recognized collegiate mariachi ensembles. The evening will also include performances from El Gallo de Araiza y Su Banda and La Internacional Sonora Mar y Mar, along with a DJ closing out the night.

One of the highlights of the evening will be the historic Grito de Dolores ceremony at 6:30 p.m., commemorating the traditional call that helped launch Mexico’s fight for independence.
