The Next Gen National Workgroup invites you to kick off the 2022 convention. Let’s get this party started! Join us on this magical music tour at On The Record Speakeasy & Club at the Park MGM. Expect the unexpected, where there is something new around each corner. The venue fuses meticulous 1970s period design and authentic music nostalgia as you enter through a functioning record store. The selfie opportunities are endless in front of the framed Vinyl records, a wall of antique boob tubes, or the 1963 Bristol Double-Decker Bus. “Yeah, Baby,” the fun never stops with DJs spinning and callers dancing. Discover the various pinball machines, private karaoke rooms, and hidden speakeasy parlor. Network with industry professionals, our amazing vendor sponsors, and more. You’ll have a chance to mingle with Apprentices, meet the Next Gen work group, and more. This event is open to all-access registrants 21 & over.

CHAPTER LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

(Invitation Only) This networking and educational event brings AFSA chapter leaders together to share, inspire, and collaborate on ideas to develop their chapters. Chapter leaders will gain the resources they need to develop and manage their chapters while having a little fun.

GENERAL SESSION

Each year, the General Session brings the AFSA family together to celebrate the best in the industry. AFSA will take this special occasion to recognize inspirational people in the industry by presenting its most prestigious honors to the Henry S. Parmelee Award winner, the Fire Sprinkler Advocate of the Year, and the Young Professional of the Year. AFSA will also introduce you to the top seven apprentices in the country. Join AFSA as we showcase the best of the best in the industry. This event is open to all registered attendees.

EXHIBITION GRAND OPENING RECEPTION

4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

This is where cutting-edge technology and the innovative sprinkler design meet the experienced business leaders. They know how to put that technology to use. It all comes together at our marquee event – the Exhibition Grand Opening Reception! The exhibition hall showcases nearly 500 exhibiting company representatives, making it hands-down the leading exhibition of fire sprinkler products and services in the country. Attire is business casual.

NATIONAL APPRENTICE COMPETITION
AUDIENCE VIEWING

Wednesday, Oct. 19
12:30 PM – 3:30 PM

This event showcases the “best of the best” in the industry, beginning with a nationwide exam. The top seven apprentices advance to the national competition. They will cut, thread, and install a miniature wet pipe system complete with sprinklers and a pressure test — all on display to a packed exhibit hall crowd. The winner with the highest combined points on the onsite written test and practical install will receive top honors and a $5,000 cash award! Come and find out who will be the next national apprentice winner! The competition aims to raise the profile and recognition of skilled fire sprinkler apprentices and highlight how vitally important the technical craft of installation is to the success of our industry. Established in 1994, the AFSA National Apprentice Competition promotes the strengthening and growth of skilled apprentices through higher education, advocacy, and industry promotion.

AFSA41 Annual Apprentice Awards Party

Do you have a favorite musical decade? Were you rockin’ through the ’60s, doing the hustle in the 70s, getting footloose in the ’80s, or slammin’ in the ‘90s? If so, then AFSA’s Music Through the Decades party is your jam! AFSA41’s closing party will feature live music, food, and dancing to satisfy all musical tastes!
Come dressed in the style of your favorite music decade. Sip on signature cocktails and dance the night away under the night sky on the Bellagio Pool deck.
The highlight of the evening will be the crowning of the newest National Apprentice Competition champion!
Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes.
