Knickerbocker Park is a $2.2 million, 15-acre park that includes play areas for 2 to 5-year-olds and 5 to 12-year-olds. Features of the park include a swing set, splash pad, youth baseball field, multi-use events field, jogging path with exercise stations and picnic areas. Being a pet-friendly community, Providence’s Knickerbocker Park also features a dog park right in the neighborhood with both small and large dog areas – a welcome amenity that’s hard to find close to home in many other Las Vegas neighborhoods.
Located at 10695 Dorrell Lane, the park’s design also offers great views of the entire Las Vegas Valley. Knickerbocker Park was named in honor of literary great Washington Irving, whose “Knickerbocker Tales,” a collection of stories from 19th century upstate New York include “Rip Van Winkle,” “The Headless Horseman” and others. This theme further reinforces Providence’s dedication to the literary arts and more importantly, the promotion of reading and the cultivating of a lifelong love for learning.
