Sisolak’s Economic Destruction of Vegas Continues: Three Station Casinos properties will be demolished

Texas Station

While our idiot governor makes his rounds claiming Las Vegas is in the middle of an economic recovery, Stations Casinos today announced that they are permanently shutting down and demolishing three of its casinos that have been shut down since Sisolak enacted his COVID shutdowns in March 2020. Texas Station, Fiesta Rancho, and Fiesta Henderson will all be demolished, and the land will be sold.

“These properties have been an important part of our business over many years, so it is not without sadness that we announce these permanent closures. We would like to recognize and thank our former Team Members who worked at these properties for making them a place where our guests always felt welcome. We are pleased that approximately one-third of the Team Members from each of these three properties are already working at another Station Casinos property, and we hope that number will grow. We also want to thank our loyal guests for their support.

While the decision was difficult, throughout our 46-year history, Station Casinos has adapted and grown with the Las Vegas valley. This action will enable the Company to continue reinvesting in our open properties and move more quickly to develop and deliver the next generation of Station Casinos resorts to the residents and visitors of North Las Vegas, Henderson, and the rest of the Las Vegas valley. This strategic focus will create new and exciting amenities for our customers and job opportunities for our valued Team Members and the community.”

SCOTT KREEGER, PRESIDENT OF STATION CASINOS

  1. I wouldn’t blame the Governor for these properties belong demolished, they have been in decline since 2015. I used to service some equipment at these properties and remember being heart broken by the lack of business at these properties.. It seems the company was concentrating on keeping their higher end properties IE:Red Rock Resort, Aliante Casino and Green Valley Ranch operating in the black which was a tremendous task on the company.

  2. Stations is using the pandemic to rid itself of low profit casinos. Much the same as they used the pandemic to close their buffets and lay off hundreds of potential union workers. Stations is disgusting

  3. Why didn’t Red Rock go all they way and also admit that after the structures get obliterated, they intend to salt the earth beneath it as well?

  4. 200 rooms are usually required at an “ unlimited casino”. Maybe they could have made rooms available to their employees?? Obviously they are milking situation for max profits and tax breaks. Probably got good incentives when places were built.

The culinary can’t organize a vacant lot.
