With months of violence, shootings, stabbings, rioting and chaos plaguing our city, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is working with other agencies to combat the problem. The Nevada Highway Patrol is now assisting LVMPD with their operation “Persistent Pressure,” which ramps up patrols along the strip corridor on the weekends.
“Maybe a criminal will think twice before they do something down there that’s illegal,” said Trooper Jason Buratczuk with Nevada Highway Patrol. “It really frees Metro up to walk the Strip, have more officers interacting with people making more contacts with the public,” said Buratczuk.
“We’re getting guns, fraud materials, narcotics, stolen vehicles.” said Buratczuk.
While the chaos is anything but under control, last night we witnessed firsthand how dedicated some of our local police officers really are to taking out the trash!
