The Thunderbirds Flying

The 2017 Nellis Air Force Base Air Show, Aviation Nation, is one of the most thrilling air shows in the world. Home of the world famous Thunderbirds, Nellis Air Force Base, hosts this one of a kind event displaying the pride, precision, and professionalism of American Airmen.

Attendees at the Nellis 2017 Air Show and Open House will get to experience exciting aerial acts, static aircraft displays from past and present, and be able to interact with the Airmen who carry out the Nellis mission.

You’ll not only see the newest cutting edge aircraft, including the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lighting II, but you’ll also get to experience the Thunderbirds performing in their F-16 Fighting Falcons during a breathtaking hour-long demonstration. The entire event gives you a glimpse of the awesome skills and capabilities that all fighter pilots must possess.

General admission for the Air Show and public parking is located at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, 7000 Las Vegas Blvd N., Las Vegas, NV, 89115.  Parking at the Speedway is free, and visitors will use round-trip shuttle bus transportation to and from Nellis Air Force Base.  A handicapped parking area will be designated at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and handicapped-accessible shuttle buses will be provided.  To access the handicapped parking area, please ensure the vehicle has current government-issued handicapped parking permits.

The buses start running from the Las Vegas Motor Speedway at 9:00 a.m. and stop taking guests to the base at 1:00 p.m.  Visitors on base can still ride the buses back to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway until 5 p.m.

Due to security precautions, the recommended access route to the show for the general public is via the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  The general public must process through security lines and then ride buses to and from Nellis Air Force Base. No privately owned vehicles without Department of Defense identification will be allowed on Nellis Air Force Base.  Parking on base will be extremely limited.

People who are using public transportation can catch the shuttle bus from the Main Gate (at the cross streets of Las Vegas Blvd and Craig Road) to the Thunderbird Hangar entry control point.  Visitors using the Main Gate shuttle bus will process through security at the Main Gate.
