Treasure Island is turning the second and third floors of its 40,000 square-foot retail area into a Marvel Comics’ The Avengers and Hasbro’s Transformers exhibition theme experince.
The attractions, which are expected to open in April, 2016, will be interactive and give families a theme park self-guided tour experience. The Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. (Scientific Training Tactical Intelligence Operative Network) will feature Marvel characters like Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America and Thor.
The tours will last about 50 minutes and will allow kids to immerse themselves in the SHIELD experience, getting a firsthand look at intelligence files, classified studies, and experiments that explores the history and scientific origins of Marvel’s The Avengers including Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America, Thor, and more.
Visitors of all ages will be granted official access to the S.T.A.T.I.O.N. headquarters where they will be taken deep into the Marvel Cinematic Universe to explore the science behind their favorite Super Heroes.
The project is geared toward a family crowd and replaces the old pirate battles and the Sirens of TI that were popular with families. Treasure Island owner Phil Ruffin said the attractions fit into the family oriented theme of the TI resort. The Transformers attraction will be on the on the second floor of the retail facility and The Avengers will take over the upper level.
