Las Vegas to Shut Lights off on the Strip

On March 28th one of the brightest cities in America is going to shut of it’s lights. Las Vegas, along with 240 other cities will be shutting of their lights, as part of Earth Hour 2009.

Earth Hour started a few years ago in Australia and has grown into a worldwide event.  Las Vegas is this years flagship city and will start the event by shutting off it’s lights an entire hour.  Local officials say that the Lights on the Strip as well as a number of the major casinos will be turned off for a full hour.

Earth Hour will occur in over 70 countries between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., March 28, 2009
