Las Vegas Finally gets a Real Chicago Beef Joint: Al’s Chicago Italian Beef Review

After years of waiting, we finally have real Chicago style beefs and hot dogs in Las Vegas. This week, Al’s #1 Chicago Italian Beef Restaurant opened up off of Sahara and Rainbow.

Featured on shows like Man Vs Food and voted “The Best Italian Beef Sandwich” by Chicago Magazine, Al’s is known for serving up some of the best Beefs in Chicago, so having them come to Las Vegas is a welcome surprise to anyone who’s been missing that signature Chicago flavor. Until now, the closest you could get to finding a good Chicago beef was to drive 5 hours into California to the nearest Portillos.

If you’ve never had an Al’s Beef, your missing out. I’m a huge fan of Portillos; but in my opinion,  Al’s unique blend of juice which they call gravy, is probably one of the best. It gives the sandwich its unique taste, and will have you wishing you would have told them to soak the sandwich until it’s falling apart – which reminds me make sure you tell them dipped!

As for the meat itself, it’s a 100% dry roasted beef that is made with their signature spice blend. What set’s it above most other Beefs, is the fact that they don’t add any chemicals, preservatives or enhancers to the meat. Besides Beefs, which is all I really care about, they also have Chicago Hot Dogs, the Original Polish, Tamale Boats (Chicago style Tamales smothered in Chili, Onions and Cheddar Cheese) , Burgers, and Chicago Style No-Bean Chilli. Oh yeah, they also have Chicken sandwiches – although I’m not really sure why anyone would order one over a beef.
