How’s your website doing?
Does it seem like your website stuck in first gear? Not enough visitors? Not enough hits? AHHH, worst of all No Sales?
Here are a few things to think about when considering what you can do to make your website more “Sales friendly”
- Make sure your website always has an answer! A lot of website’s have a “frequently asked questions” section — but why is it that the questions I have never seem to be listed? Make sure you have a place where customers can ask questions, Give them away to reach someone. A simple contact form can mean the difference between keeping a customer and sending them elsewhere.
- Make your website into your #1 Sales person.
- Does your customer have a way to place an order?
- Can they ask for a estimate or request information?
- Do your customers trust you when they visit your site?
- Can your customer buy your product in one click?
- Is your site a rapid response machine? When it comes to the internet, your customers expect immediate results. Your website needs to be set up in away that gives the customers what they need quickly. Auto-responders are a good way to keep your customer from heading to another site.
- Make yourself available to your customer. Make sure that you give your customers multiple ways to get a hold of you. One of the things I hate the most, is when a website has no visible way to contact anyone. If your contact information isn’t displayed everywhere, there is a good chance that you will lose to a company whose information is easier to find. So make sure your site displays your phone number, your email address, and a way to reach a live person. Make it as easy on them as possible to buy your product or service.
- Does your website make you look like a quality company? A poorly designed website can make your customer feel like they are dealing with a second rate company. I have seen many sites that look like a high school student designed them, and in some cases they actually were. When it comes to your website remember you get what you pay for.
- How useful is your site? Make sure that your site has information that your customers and prospects can actually use. Also, make sure your website is up to date with new information and fresh content. A good site can generate thousands of hits a day, which should lead to a significant amount of sales. If your site isn’t generating sales, then you need to do something to fix it.
