Have the right cards?

Believe it or not having a good business card right could mean the difference between success and failure.
“Come on?” you say. “It’s just a business card.”
Yep, you’re right. It’s just your image, your identity, a reflection of you, and reflection of your company,
Not a big deal, right?
WRONG! A great business card shows potential customers that you’ve taken the time to market and position yourself. It tells them that your company is important and gives them an impression of who they are dealing with. Having a well designed business card can literally say “We’re the right company for you” before you ever say a word.
When your at networking events do you get “Nice card” Comments from your prospects? If not, then it’s time you rethink what kind of impression your card is making.
So what can you do?
Creating a winning business card is more complicated than you might think. A Good Card has the right balance of design, marketing know-how, and killer printing, that when used correctly will create an impression that will have your prospects wanting more.
Here are the key ingredients for making a killer Business Card.
- A Professional Logo. Hire a designer to create your brands image. Logos from a good graphic designers typically can cost between $500 and $2,000.
- Killer Design. How you card is designed is as important as having a good logo. Make sure your designer knows how to design business cards.
- Color. Using the right colors can actually play a huge role in how your customer views your company. Using the wrong colors can destroy even the best layouts.
- Materials. What your business card is printed can set you apart from your competition. For my graphic design business (Richardson Graphics) I Personally use Plastic cards. I print all my Business cards on Credit Card Material. Keep in mind that you don’t have to use ordinary paper. Plastic, metal, and other materials can make your card really POP!.
Things to watch out for!
- Don’t use Thermography. This is a old form of printing that make your cards look cheap, it also causes your card to stick to things in your wallet (even worse in your prospects wallet).
- Don’t be in a rush. A rush job is just that, a job that was rushed and probably lacks any real value to you or your business.
- Don’t be cheap! Your business card is a reflection of your business, don’t be tricked into using one of the bargain basement online card printers. Worst yet, never I repeat never use the free business card companies, there is nothing less professional than seeing a card that has another companies logo on the back advertising their services.
- Don’t use Flimsy Card stocks. If your card feels like a piece of paper it’s time to invest in some better cards
- Don’t overdo it! It’s a business card not a brochure, make it short and sweet. Less is more.
Your Card is your companies identity and image. Are you proud to hand it out?
